AquaHouse Turbo TAC Compact High capacity Scale Prevention System & Whole House Water Filter
The AquaHouse Turbo TAC is a compact High capacity scale prevention and whole house water filter system and is ideal for use in virtually all homes including large homes with flow rates up to 38 litres per minute, commercial settings, and light industrial usage. Compact design allows for the Turbo TAC unit to be installed in tight spaces including in standard kitchen cupboards. Proven scale prevention technology up to 99.6% effective, a genuine alternative to conventional water softeners.
How it works: 2 in 1 system
Stage 1:
The water passes through the outer layer of the filter which consists of an advanced radial flow carbon block filter to reduce levels of Chlorine, THM’s, PCB’s, and levels of heavy metals if present.
Stage 2:
The water then moves through the inner core of the filter where the scale prevention takes place without adding any salt or chemicals into the water. The filter does this by using a process called Template Assisted Crystallization (TAC), which conditions the water and converts the hardness minerals in the water (Calcium and Magnesium) into harmless, inactive microscopic crystals. This prevents the Calcium and Magnesium from bonding together to form limescale, and also over time will descale existing pipework and appliances. Because of this process no natural minerals are lost from the water, and no chemicals or salts are added either.
This filtration process prevents scale from forming in pipework and appliances, around sinks and washbasins, and will help prolong the life and efficiency of your appliances. The scale prevention media has been tested independently against the German DVGW protocol for scale prevention and has achieved up to 99.6% effectiveness rating.
Compact Design
- Fits inside standard kitchen cupboards and generally is installed under the sink
- Two filters in one pod, the TAC scale filter slots into the middle of the radial flow carbon filter, allowing the unit to be half the size normally required.
- Unique design allows for the filters to be changed from the top of the housing, allowing for easier filter changes
Template Assisted Crystallization compared to a water softener
- Up to 99.6% efficiency independently verified using the German DVGW test for scale prevention.
- The proven water softener alternative with minimal maintenance
- No moving parts to break or fail, doesn’t waste water or need regeneration or backwash
- Total boiler and appliance protection with no associated corrosion issues, clears existing scale deposits from pipes, fittings and appliances.
- Unlike water softeners – no salt discharged into the environment
- Unlike water softeners – no salt to buy or add which will save you money
The Template Assisted Crystallisation process (TAC):

![]() |
| In an untreated hard water supply, the hardness minerals such as calcium form calcium carbonate – rock hard deposits we know as lime-scale. | The polymeric template beads attract the mineral ions on a molecular level in a process known as Template Assisted Crystallisation (TAC). |

| The minerals collect within the nucleation points on each polymeric bead and form microcrystals. | After forming, the microcrystals break off from the template beads and continue through the water supply, as inert particles unable to form hard scale |

| Hardness minerals in water treated by the TAC process pass through pipework and appliances, without sticking to form hard lime-scale, beneficial to plumbing fittings and heating systems. | Where water evaporates, the water marks left behind consist of the mineral residue in crystalline form, and wipe away easily with general cleaning, not requiring aggressive descaling. |
Installation
The system comes complete with filters and supplied with 25mm (1″ BSP) fittings. This is simply connected inline with your cold water mains pipe to treat the water for the whole home / premises. This is a very straight forward installation for any plumber.
Approvals
- The TAC water filter media used in this system meets NSF 61 standard. This is the American standard for drinking water products which is world renowned and internationally recognised.
- The scale prevention media has been independently tested up to 99.6% efficiency using the German DVGW test protocol for scale prevention.
